A little story game ™
A storytelling card game for shared moments

A simple way to spend time together.

Draw a Character.
Choose a Place.
Add an Object.
Follow a Prompt.

Then tell a story — together.

Inside are four small sets of cards, each designed to gently guide the story:

• 10 Characters — a fox, a baker, a bear, a child, and others
• 10 Places — quiet places, distant places, familiar places
• 10 Objects — small things that change everything
• 10 Prompts — moments, questions, and turning points

Every combination creates something new.
Every story becomes something shared.

How it works

Draw one card from each group:

Character → Place → Object → Prompt

Take turns building the story —
adding a sentence, a moment, or an idea.

No pressure. No right answers.
Just time spent together.

Why it matters

It’s easy to lose time to screens.
Harder to sit, talk, and imagine something together.

This is a small way back to that.

Parents, grandparents, Godparents, aunts, uncles, teachers, or anyone who has children in your life whom you love… let me introduce you to A Little Story Game.

I’ve had this small deck of story prompts for a little over a week, and our girls love it. They’ve been asking to play it all week, frequently sequestering themselves in the playroom with it. Yesterday we had a very fun afternoon at a baseball game with some dear friends, and after returning home I needed to lay down briefly to try and rest through a knee-pain flare-up. I hadn’t been resting long when I heard the loudest, most genuine, belly laughs coming from our daughters’ bedroom. Unable to ignore it, I exited our room quietly and then sat silently in our living room, smiling as I listened to my wife and our three daughters in the girls’ bedroom taking turns telling stories.

This is such an excellent tool for inspiring and teaching (by showing) creativity, imagination, active listening, and positive feedback. It works by giving you 10 different options in each of 4 categories (see the second picture), with adorable cozy art to accompany each card except the Prompts. I did the math and there are more possible story combinations in this “little story game” deck than were supposedly told in “1001 Arabian Nights.” 10,000 possible story combinations, in fact.

As a new company, I hope they sell a million of these decks! I don’t know them personally, nor do I get anything from recommending this game to you except the joy of spreading it to others. As someone who considers themselves creative, that is more than enough. I paid full price for mine, even after offered a discount. It’s already been worth every dollar spent.

So this is me, making the suggestion that you grab a deck for yourself, or for a friend. I strongly suspect you’ll like it as much as I do.

My 5 year old daughter and I play this ALL THE TIME - like multiple days a week! We have played it during play dates AND video chats with grandparents and long-distance friends and it is always a hit! Since every story is different, it never gets old! We have even built some recurring characters that continue to go on new adventures each time we pull cards for a new story! This is genuinely the best game I've ever bought for my family. We all have an amazing time playing this. This was such a GENIUS idea for a kids game! I love hearing my daughter's stories get longer and more creative each time we play, and I love how hard she LAUGHS when we get a funky card combination! :D This game is QUALITY family (& friend) time!

I love this game. I bought it for my 4 year old grandson who is very imaginative and creative. I work with below grade readers in my county. I was attracted to this game because it enforces reading comprehension skills including "who are the characters?", "where did the story occur?", "was there a problem?", "what happened first, second,, next?" and how did the characters solve the problem? Who knew that learning reading comprehension skills could be such fun! Kudos to the design team!

I purchased this game for my 4-year-old grandson. He prefers cooperative games over competitive games, so this seemed like something that would appeal to him. He loves it! He loves creating stories and hearing everyone else's stories, so, yes, the game is just right!

I bought this thinking we'd play it once... we ended up sitting at the table for almost an hour making up stories. My granddaughter didn't want to stop.
